MEET GREG BENNETT
A personal note from your Sales Head Coach…
When I started in sales, I struggled! I received a lot of rejection, and I felt like I was pushing people to buy something they didn’t want.
One day I was driving home from one of those all-day, motivational sales workshops … 3,000 people were crammed in an auditorium, watching some training freak hop up and down and talk about “motivation.” I was thinking about the trainer’s aggressive sales techniques and hollow advice and realized I would never use anything I’d just heard! And neither would my colleagues on the sales team.
It hit me: I don’t have to do sales in the traditional, old-school way.
This was my light-bulb moment. I realized that, if I’m going to be effective in sales, I need to develop a different approach. An approach where I wouldn’t have to change my personality, I’d still like myself in the morning, and I’d be successful by helping clients as a partner rather than as a seller of products and services.
My sales abilities and results soared. I loved being in the trenches!
Over time, I began developing my own training approaches and style. I learned to throw clients into what I called the Ugly Pond and to steer them clear of the Death Valley of Sales. My favorite approach is to take clients to NO, which is a better place than the BS Land of MAYBE.
As I honed my sales skills and techniques, I began interviewing psychiatrists and psychologists (okay I was going to them, so what), and I created a nontraditional selling and questioning method that I call Psych Selling. This method uses the actual mindset and strategies of doctors to improve sales performance!
Eventually I began working with salespeople on the frontlines, teaching and coaching them to use my strategies. (I love being in the trenches and not in some ivory tower.) The results? Salespeople soon discovered that by using the Bennett Method, they were closing more business than ever before, while creating long-term customer relationships at the same time.
As I showed others my approach, I discovered that I love to coach.
Today, I create long-term coaching partnerships with my clients. I’m an extremely effective coach and have the coach’s mentality: I enjoy succeeding through others. I hold my clients accountable, and they hold me accountable. Hey, I have skin in the game!
I’m a tough coach. Each coaching relationship is like a personal trainer working with a team of pro athletes: We’re committed to being the best. Failure is not an option. We instill high levels of accountability, implement systems, fix processes, and often change the entire sales culture. We create a level of excellence for the sales team, the entire organization, and for each salesperson.
Are you ready to be a pro? Ready to be the best in your field?
I dig it when my coaching clients tell me, “I’m your biggest success. Your coaching and training transformed my life.” These sales folks invested in their success, and they worked hard to become a pro.
If you’re ready to commit to being the best, call us. We need to meet – but we may not be a match.
